February Field Trips

Stained Glass Masterpieces

Tuesday, February 11th, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Free of charge
Meet at the church

This field trip will be a tour of two buildings in Oakland to enjoy the stained glass masterpieces of Charles J. Connick (1875 - 1945), an American stained glass artist who learned his craft in Pittsburgh and then created some 20,000 stained glass windows around the world.

The first building on the tour is the First Baptist Church, where the Rev. Gary Denning will explain the design of the stained glass windows in the building. Then we will walk to the Heinz Chapel where IWAP’s own Dewi, an architectural designer, will highlight the aesthetics of the chapel's windows.

The tour will end with an optional lunch at the Porch, a bistro on the Schenley plaza: www.theporchatschenley.com/
