A day at the Science Center is filled with science adventures. Carnegie Science Center offers 4 floors of interactive exhibits that are geared for all ages.
- Explore Highmark Sports Works - offers nearly 30 interactive experience life works, physics of sports and sports challenge
- Roboworld - the world’s largest permanent robotics exhibit
- Space Place - featuring a 2 story walk-in replica of the international space station
- See an Omnimax movie* on the biggest and only dome screen in Pittsburgh. The movie we could watch is: BORN TO BE WILD - show time - 12:15
This adventure transports moviegoers into the lush rainforests of Borneo and Kenyan savannah. Follow orphaned orangutans, elephants and extraordinary people who rescue, rehabilitate and return them back to the wild.
Meeting time & place: We will meet at the church at 9:30 a.m.
If you drive directly to the museum, let’s meet at 10 a.m. in front of the main desk
Cost: Admission, not including the movie or parking, will be free. It so happens that we have 3 members who are volunteers at the Carnegie Museum and they can invite 6 guests to visit (for free) the Carnegie museums, which includes Carnegie Science Center. (Normally the Carnegie Science Center admission fee is $18.95.)
*For those who are interested in watching the IMAX movie "Born to be Wild", admission is $5.00 instead of $8.00. Parking fee at the Carnegie Science Center is $5.
Lunch: Lunch will be at the Cafe/Cafeteria; however, you can bring your own lunch. You can stay in the museum after lunch if you did not finish your visit, depending on your ride situation.
